Welcome to the New School Year!

Hello everyone!

It has been way too long since the hallways of Pentucket Lake were full of children! We can’t wait for the start of school! The custodians are doing a great job cleaning the building and maintaining the grounds so that we have a clean and beautiful school to start the new year. And teachers have been coming to Pentucket Lake, setting up their classrooms, getting everything just right for their new class. It has been a busy summer – but a good one!

A couple of things:

1. Dates to Keep in Mind:

Week of August 22 – Your child’s teacher this year will be posted to the Student Portal. If you need to sign up for the portal, please click here https://www.haverhill-ps.org/parents-students/

Tuesday, August 30 – School starts for 1st through 5th grades

Friday, September 2 – Meet Your Teacher, 9:30 to 10:30 for kindergarten. More information to come

Friday, September 2 – Early Release. Dismissal begins around 11:35

Monday, September 5 and Tuesday, September 6 – No School

Wednesday, September 7th – Kindergarten’s First Day of School and all other grades return

2. School Supplies

Pentucket Lake supplies your child with everything they need to be a successful student. However, what child doesn’t get excited about picking out a new lunch box or a cool notebook or fun pencils and markers. We don’t ask you to purchase anything specific for the classroom, but below is a link to a list of suggested items that would be useful in class this year.

3. Reusable Water Bottle

Children love to drink water. However, since covid, our old-fashioned water bubblers have been converted into water bottle filling stations. Please send your child to school with a reusable water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the day.

4. Summer Reading

If your child participated in the Haverhill’s Summer Reading Program, be sure to send the paper in with your child on the first day of school. We will be celebrating all the participants on Day 1!
