Hello Pentucket Lake Families!
Title I is the largest federal aid program for public schools in the United States. It is part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). The Title I grant provides federal funds to schools with high percentages of low-income students. These funds pay for extra educational services to help at risk students achieve and succeed regardless of any disadvantages through no fault of their own.
Haverhill Public Schools is committed to providing an equitable and inclusive education to every child in this district by utilizing the Title I funds to provide school wide programs targeted to improving student achievement throughout their entire school; therefore every child benefits from the added services and programs. The grant requires schools to: (1) use research-based strategies to improve student achievement and (2) include strategies to support/encourage parent involvement.
Twice a year, in the fall and again in the spring, I will send out a Family Survey, asking for your input on you and your child's experience at Pentucket Lake. This survey will take only a couple of minutes of your time, but the information we can collect from your responses will be invaluable.
