Pentucket Lake is About to Open the Doors to a New School Year!
The first day of school for 1st - 4th grades is Wednesday, September 2
As the August sun begins to set on another wonderful summer break, our amazing teachers and staff are practically bursting with energy and excitement to welcome our students back for a fantastic new school year. Meanwhile, our hardworking custodial team has been busy behind the scenes, scrubbing, polishing, and transforming our school into a sparkling, beautiful space that is ready for learning and laughter.
We know that trading endless sunny days for alarm clocks is always a little bittersweet, and it’s completely okay to feel a bit sad to see summer fade away. But the good news is that crisp, wonderful fall weather—along with fresh notebooks, new friendships, and exciting adventures—is right around the corner! We are thrilled to kick off this new chapter together and can't wait to see all those bright, smiling faces fill our hallways very soon!

Teacher Assignments Posted to Parent Portal
For students going into 1st grade through 4th grades, the name of your child’s teacher for the upcoming school year is available beginning Friday, August 21st in the Parent Portal!
For our new kindergarten students, on Friday, September 4, you will receive an email from Mr. Brennan announcing the name of your kindergarten teacher!
* Important: The name of your child’s teacher will be posted to the Parent/Student Portal. If you haven’t signed up yet or have forgotten your username or password, please visit the Parent Student Portal webpage for next steps.
Not only will your child’s classroom teacher’s name be posted to the Portal, but during the school year, your child’s report cards will also be available through the Portal. So it is important to ensure you have access.
How to know what is Going on at Pentucket Lake - Parent Square app
Frequently throughout the school year, the Main Office and your child’s teacher will send important information about things going on at Pentucket Lake or in the classroom. Haverhill Public Schools uses an app called Parent Square as their primary communication tool. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to sign up. We have a lot of great things going on around PenLake. Being signed up for Parent Square is a great way to make sure you don’t miss out on anything.

Student Arrival and Dismissal Procedures - YouTube Videos
The safety of your child is important to us. We have procedures in place that are designed to protect your child from harm - especially during morning arrival. The parking lot at Pentucket Lake School is very busy in the morning and in the afternoon. There are cars and buses moving in every direction, making it dangerous for pedestrians - especially, for smaller children.

Which Bus is your Child on?
Transportation to and from school is so important. We need to know how you intend your child to come to school each day and how they will go home each day.
We have four ways for students to go home each day: 1. by bus, 2. as a walker, 3. drive thru parent pick up, or 4. after school programs, like the YMCA.
Over the next handful of days, the bus routes and stops will be posted to the district website and will be shared with families. Once that happens, please make review the bus routes for the bus stop closest to your home.
Your child’s classroom teacher will have a paper form for you to fill out during Open House to tell us how your child will come to school and go home.
(As soon as I know that the bus routes list is available, I will alert families and post a link here.)
School Supplies List
Pentucket Lake supplies your child with everything they need to be a successful student. However, what child doesn’t get excited about picking out a new lunch box or a cool notebook or fun pencils and markers? We don’t ask you to purchase anything specific for the classroom, but below are links to a list of suggested items that would be useful in class this year.

For Kindergarten Families
Starting kindergarten is always an exciting time - for the little children as well as for the parents! And we want to make coming to Pentucket Lake for the first time as easy and as smooth as possible.
Because there is so much kindergarten families need to know and do at the beginning of kindergarten, I have created a completely separate document that outlines everything. Please click below for all the info!

But one event to put on your calendar now: Popsicles and Playground. On Wednesday, August 26 from 10:00 to 11:00, you and your child are invited to join us on our playscape for a popsicle and playtime with other new kindergarteners. Kindergarten staff will be there to greet the new Pentucket Lake Lions, along with Principal Mr. Brennan and Assistant Principal Mrs. Silva. We hope you can join us!

Pentucket Lake School Open House - September 1
Pentucket Lake’s students and families are invited to meet their new teacher and see their new classroom the afternoon before school starts. We ask that families come during the grade level time blocks due to the parking lot’s limited space.

Summer Reading - Time is almost up!
Quick! It is almost time to turn in your summer reading list! Read some books and create your list!
We will be collecting the Summer Reading lists through Friday, September 11. Your child can simply hand their book list to their teacher.
